I have been inactive here for some time now and I probably won't be posting new photos on here anymore. The main reason being me shifting over to tumblr and doing well there. Since it's not the only one, I will take my time to write what really grinds my gears about deviantart.
I really loved deviantart, but it has changed too much for my liking. It's not the (horrendous) logo nor are the profile changes or the look of the DA homepage. The reason that got me shaking my fist at it is the content on the DA homepage which mainly consists of nude women, either drawn or photographed or just extremely sexualised pictures that would have otherwise been ignored. I love akt photography when it's well done, but usually the works on DA HOT homepage are just there because of exposed boobs, tits or ass in HD. Yeah kids, now you can take cheap naked shots with "big black cameras" and sell it as artistic nudes. So next time someone calls you a perv you can wave your finger in their face, say that it's art and then jerk off to it.
It's like horny geeks party who seem to control what's HOT (hence the word itself) and wank to it all day. I did manage to find some good works, but I'm tired of naked bodies (or body parts (.)(.) (Y) ) being the NO 1 thing every single time I open DA. I have to hide away from people around me every time I open DA just so they don't think I'm going on some pornographic website because it really looks so!
Another thing is that because of multiple homepages, people can easily overlook your work and I just cannot be bothered spending 30 mins on adding my photo to groups every single time I publish a new photo (and believe me, for us unpopular ones, it's the only way people can actually see our work).
Tumblr allows me to post multiple photos per post which is great for photosets and I don't have to choose 1 photo out of entire sets. It's the same reason why I don't use instagram (plus they want your photo to be square and that's major bs cause not all photos can or should be square).
So my dear people, I'm saying bon voyage and see you somewhere else
